Student Scholarship Opportunities
Women in Leisure Services, Gamma Chapter, is proud to offer a Scholarship Program to assist in the development of women students in the field of recreation and leisure services.
Gamma Student Scholarship
- Applicant must live, work, or attend school in the Gamma Chapter boundaries (Los Angeles/Orange/San Bernardino/Riverside Counties).
- Applicant must be pursuing a graduate or undergraduate degree in Recreation, Leisure Studies, Human Services, Public Administration, or any closely related field at an accredited college or university.
- Applicant must maintain a full-time student status or 12 semester units or more (or quarter equivalent) OR a part-time status of 6 semester units or more (or quarter equivalent) and working and/or volunteering in a recreation/leisure services setting.
- Graduate students must maintain 9 semester units for full-time student status OR 3 semester units and be working a minimum of 10 hours per week for part-time status.
- Minimum GPA of 2.5.
- Minimum or one (1) year experience in a paid or volunteer municipal recreation setting

California Foundation for Parks & Recreation Scholarship Opportunity
The California Foundation for Parks and Recreation Scholarship Committee offers scholarships to assist noteworthy students in fulfilling their goal of entering the park and recreation profession. The Committee annually awards scholarships to junior, senior and graduate level students majoring in recreation, parks, leisure studies and closely related fields, throughout the state of California. Award amounts are generally between $1000 and $2000. On occasion, an outstanding student has been the recipient of more than one scholarship.

CPRS District 10 Scholarship and Aging Section Scholarship
California Foundation for Parks and Recreation - Annually awards scholarships to junior, senior and graduate level students majoring in recreation, parks, leisure studies and closely related fields, throughout the state of California. Award amounts are generally between $1000 and $2000. Membership in CPRS is NOT a requirement for the CFPR Scholarship, though it is highly recommended.
